Question by Joey: (Pot smokers only) Am I addicted to weed?
I’ve been smoking weed for 5 months or so now and I really like it. I have weed in my room and I smoke every weekend or so, but recently I’ve been having the urge to smoke every night, even on school nights. I tell myself during the day not to and that I won’t but I’ve done it on weekday nights more than once. I’m a junior in high school (no haters, seriously), and I think about weed all the time. I keep telling myself that I have no need to stop because it is not as dangerous as something like cocaine or even alcohol. I think that I need a girlfriend or something to keep me occupied and that would get my mind off of things, but it still worries me that I have so many urges to smoke. All my friends think I’m a major pothead even though I only smoke on weekends and I don’t want them thinking less of me if I start smoking every day. I don’t even want to do that though, I don’t want to stop I just want to want it less. If anybody has any thoughts on things that could distract me or any tips at all please speak up.

*Side note*

I have post-traumatic stress disorder and many people have told me that drugs would mess me up. I have depression issues too but in actuality, my life has gotten a lot better sense I started smoking. I have more confidence, more friends (good friends too) and none of them are related to pot, they just happened to coincide with my starting. Smoking takes my mind off things and chills me out when I’m mad at my family or something. I don’t want to stop just want to have control over my urges.
