Will I Get Taller?

Question by sahate: Will I get taller?
I am 14 years old and 5 months, I’m asian my mother is 4’11 and my father is 5’8 and me i’m 5’1 and it seems like I haven’t grown since a while, since I got my immunization shot for ppl between 14-16 years old, I got it on february 2007. I got my periods when I was 12 almost 13. Last year when I was 13 I used to stretch almost every morning and evening before going to bed and workout exercise for legs. This year however,I don’t sleep at a regular rate, about 2-3 times a week I only get 5-6 hours of sleep and weekends or other days of the week I don’t go to school and I sleep at home(I always get in trouble for my absences) so I never get breakfast and I don’t really stretch often. I am now 5ft1 and I really want to grow at least 1 or 2 inches, will I?

It is not possible to predict how tall you will be from this point, but I do know that women stop growing between the ages of 18-21 when the epiphyseal plates of long bones fuse. So you still have many years to go in terms of growth. Good nutrition, lots of calcium, vitamins, and stretches sound great. I heard Pilates helps people get long and lean? Anyhow, good luck!

Most likely, you will not grow any taller. However, you will continue to fill out as you mature. Stretching won’t really help you with getting taller…your height is genetically pre-determined. I wouldn’t worry about it though. %’1 is a great height!!
