Just a month after the fatal shooting of their fellow group member, Proof, D12 has decided to move forward with plans of recording a new album.
“If people think that because he’s not here we’re not going to keep doing what we’re doing, then they’re wrong,” Denaun Porter, aka Kon Artis, of D12 told The Associated Press.
D12 plans to include previously-recorded material from Proof on their new compilation.
The Detroit crew will now only wait on Swift, who’s currently serving a prison sentence for violating terms of his probation.
Porter told the Detroit Free Press that D12 will resume recording in June, when Swift is scheduled to be released from prison.
It remains unknown if D12’s new album will offer a tribute track for Proof.

Just days after Eminem filed for divorce for a second time, Kimberly Mathers had some choice comments to make about her ex-husband.
“I hope, in his best interest, that he does return to rehab,” said Kim during a Thursday (April 6) interview on Detroit radio station, WKQI. “I was hoping we could get counseling and work it out, you know.”
Kim claimed Eminem filed for divorce because of an on-going drug problem he’s battling and she went as far as to say that she sees him doing a lot of the same things that she did when she had her various problems.
Well…it didn’t take long for Eminem to respond.
“First, her allegations regarding my status post-rehab are both untrue and unfortunate,” Eminem wrote in press release statement. “Second, she was aware that I was filing for divorce. We both tried to give our marriage another chance and quickly realized that a wedding doesn’t fix the underlying problems.”
Eminem seems to be getting his mind away from Wednesday’s divorce filing and post drama by creatively cooking up new material for Obie Trice’s Second Round’s On Me album.
Trice’s album is scheduled to hit shelves May 30.
