Drug (Ab)users: Why Do You Choose to Use Drugs?
Question by SlickSlickster7: Drug (ab)users: Why do you choose to use drugs?
By drugs I mean the usual : cigarettes, marijuana, cocaine, crack, abused medications, etc…
I am curious why one would make the decision to do it or keep doing it? Aside from “you’re addicted” because that is totally understandable…
You don’t know the effects on health? Don’t care(valid answer)?
Live in the “now” mentality?
Is it peer pressure?
Sorry but don’t say “so and so doesn’t have bad effects on health” or “this is more unhealthy so…” If you don’t KNOW the effects that’s a valid answer but after studying years of human biology/ psychology/ neurobiology there ARE massive physical and/or psychological damages being done.
L V – Didn’t intend to sound like I’m on a soapbox, not making a judgement call, just interested. And I don’t mean “illegal” drugs (could have very well included addiction to diet pills, hence the “etc.”), cigarettes ARE massively addictive and have significantly bad effects on your health (with long-term use, worse that most other things)… sorry, that’s fact.
So, cigarettes are still valid in this question.
