Er, See, I Found This Website on ADD Meds and Was Wondering if This Quote Was True?

Question by the kid with the questions: Er, see, I found this website on ADD meds and was wondering if this quote was true?
“Given the diagnoses itself is not a medical condition, what child being prescribed drugs isn’t being “’unnecessarily medicated?”’ ADHD drugs are classified by the DEA as schedule ll drugs because they are as highly addictive as cocaine, morphine and opium. ADHD drugs such as Ritalin, Concerta and Adderall are documented by the FDA and international drug regulatory agencies to cause hallucinations, mania, psychosis, drug dependence, stunted growth, insomnia, heart attack, suicidal ideation and sudden death.”‘ http://www.cchrint.org/tag/concerta/

Because from what I know, Concerta is another name for Metadate CD. As I ingest that stuff into my body every day, I was slightly concerned when I read this, as I would prefer not to be addicted to my meds or have any of those nasty side effects. Addictive as cocaine? Is that true?
@Athena I’m not sure you entirely read the question. The words “can be” are not written anywhere in the quote, and I was indeed prescribed it.

@Zach I’m not short either, at 5″7 for a girl. Looking at a list of side effects though, I have experienced several of them-depression, insomnia, weight loss, tremors (very rarely though), suicidal ideation, and fatigue. If all these are really and truly caused by my meds and will stop if I stop taking them-and I have noticed that I am so much happier, eat more, and sleep better when I’ve forgotten to take my meds-then it becomes the complicated question of, “Is the benefit of psycho stimulants worth the risks and side effects?”

Only if your an idiot. Note the words ” can be ”, to idiots who don’t need it.
