I am writing a letter to someone close too me, and I put down I now have a ‘substance abuse” problem, can they do anything? I know they read the letters, but I dont know if I put “oh yeah, I do pot” if they can actually DO anything?

No, you can only be charged for possesing it. “Doing” it isnt illegal. You caould have been doing someone elses for all they know. Unless your under 21, then there is the 0 tolerance law.

Remember, jail personnel are sworn police officers. Writing that in a letter is about the same as walking up to a police officer on the street and telling them the same thing.
Keep the info out of the letters.
