Hi GG,

Here’s a list of therapists that work with gender patients:

Don’t just see any psych, see one with experience with gender, preferably a therapist. IMO psychiatrists are too quick to try medicating you with anti-depressants. You don’t need those kinds of meds if you know what I’m saying.

Learn all you can about transsexualism. Here are a couple places to start:

And there are also many on-line support groups. One that specializes in young people, like yourself, is:

Good Luck!

Hello from England, GG. A psychiatrist, perhaps, but I cannot help but feel that you need someone to talk to and confide in before you take this major step.

Hopefully you will receive many answers on here: there are some very genuine and sincere people on this forum, I have found – and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that someone going through a similar experience will reply to you.

I am concerned when you say you cannot get any help from your family. If you were a child of mine, I would give you the biggest hug ever and admire you for being so very brave.

Good luck. I wish you well.
