Do FAFSA or Loan Agencies Deny People if They Have Drug Charges And/or Convictions?

Question by michael h: Do FAFSA or loan agencies deny people if they have drug charges and/or convictions?

Best answer:

Answer by Suddenly Human
You can not get any kind of federal student aid, (loans, grants, work study) if you were convicted of a drug charge while in college and receiving federal financial aid at the time. And even if you did, you could complete an “acceptable drug rehab program” to get your eligibility back.

Here is the worksheet they use to determine eligibility.

“The song was written about Winehouse’s refusal to attend an alcohol rehabilitation centre after her management team encouraged her to go. “I asked my dad if he thought I needed to go. He said: ‘No but I should give it a try.’ So I did, for just 15 minutes. I went in said ‘hello’ and explained that I drink because I am in love and have f**ked up the relationship. Then I walked out.”[1] Winehouse later changed her management company.[2]” -wikipedia
